Margot Canzian Abuathera is a visual artist, photographer and videast. Her work explores exile not as a single rupture, but as something that keeps moving through a life long after the initial displacement : in gestures repeated without explanation, in silences passed down like objects, in a relationship to place, and to the absence of place, that outlives the generation who first lived it.
She is interested in exile as both a collective and an intimate experience: in what remains of it, in the family legacy it leaves behind, and in how it travels from generation to generation, woven into the ordinary rhythms of daily life. She interrogates these intergenerational transmissions to understand their effects. Not as abstract history, but as something lived in the present, in the texture of everyday life.
